Beach Bards Poetry and Prose Reading Series presents both emerging and established poets and writers at select times during the summer months at the Sea Isle City branch library. Poets and writers will perform readings from their original works. An Open Reading follows the featured poets and writers. Book signing and meet-and-greet opportunities follow the readings. 

Wednesday July 31st - Featured speakers:

Maria Fama: A distinguished award-winning writer from Philadelphia who has written eight books and has an exciting new book of poetry, Trigger, (Bordighera Books, 2024), just out.

Marya Small Parral: As you know, Marya has led the Jersey Cape Writers at the CMC Library, is well known as a poet and facilitator in the Cape/Atlantic area, and reads her work at numerous venues.

Richard Russell: A widely published poet who teaches writing and related subjects at Atlantic Community College and gives frequent readings in the area.

Al Tacconelli: A Pennsylvania poet and artist with several books, most recently, Such Things (Moonstone Press) and many publications in leading journals.

Wednesday August 28th - Featured speakers:

Erin Castaldi: Award-winning haiku poet and Poet Laureate of Somers Point, widely published, frequent reader and organizer of poetry events in South Jersey.

Julia MacDonnall: Widely praised author of two novels, a short story collection, and just out, her nonfiction hybrid/memoir book titled Hidden Girls: A Birth Mother’s Story of Reunion and Reckoning.

Meredith Trede: Nationally known, New York-based, published author of three poetry collections, most recently Bringing Back the House (Broadstone Books); about her old beloved family house in Wildwood, N.J.

Gene DeGeorge: Author of three books, a novella and two books of poetry, with another currently in production, his Facebook page has two interviews and two podcasts conducted by radio personalities.
