Description:
This year Great Books will read short stories and nothing but short stories. Come discuss classic and modern short stories. Some of the authors we will read include: Poe, James, Cheever, Atwood, Carver, T. C. Boyle, and Gordon. We will also read a few graphic stories, sudden fiction, and we will begin and end the year with a novella.

Great Books Reading and Discussion Group has been meeting at the Cape May Court House Library for over 20 years. We meet every other Thursday morning from 10 am to 12 noon from October through May.

Great Books was conceived by two professors at the University of Chicago who launched the Great Books Foundation in 1947. The professors shared a vision of book discussion groups in which passionate readers could meet and talk about enduring issues and ideas. Today more than 850 Great Books groups meet across the country.

This year the cost of the book is $32.95. If you are interested in joining thought provoking, lively discussions, please contact Kate Gibbons at the Cape May Court House Library - (telephone) 463-6358 or (email) kateg@cmclibrary.org.
