This four week course will be held on Thursdays at 7 p.m. beginning May 3rd the program will take place at the Main Branch Library located at 30 Mechanic St. in Cape May Court House.
Library: Cape May Court House LibraryOperatic Adventures is a narrative told through time that will begin with Mozart’s Don Giovanni (1787) and end with Stravinsky’s The Rakes Progress (1951). Throughout the course discussion will be promoted as Koren introduces great operatic composers to the audience, such as Weber, Berlioz, Mussorgsky, and many more. Do not miss this opportunity to learn about these classical composers and the contributions they made to opera. Koren Cowgill received her doctorate from the Eastman School of Music and her Master of Music from Yale. Koren has had performances of her original music by American orchestras and as she is also a mezzo-soprano, she performs locally in different venues as a soloist of operatic music. Koren teaches private voice, music composition, piano, and gives lectures locally on classical voice training and music history/theory.
