Library: Cape May Court House LibraryCape May Court House – The Cape May County Library invites public to attend a lecture on “Wills & Estates” presented by Robert Hentges of the Cape May County Surrogates office at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 13th. The program will take place at the Main Branch Library located at 30 Mechanic St. in Cape May Court House. The surrogate means one who takes the place of another, in the unfortunate case when people die intestate the surrogate appoints the closest next of kin as the administrator of the estate. Robert Hentges will discuss finer aspects and legalities of wills and estates, as well as the laws concerning minors and inheritance. W. Robert Hentges is the Surrogate for Cape May County. The Surrogate Court is a constitutionally required office. Surrogate, which includes being the Judge of the Surrogate Court, is an elected position and the term is five years. Hentges was elected on November 7, 1972 and sworn to office on November 14, 1972. He has been elected to office eight times.
