Description:
Grapes are the largest fruit crop on earth and have fascinated man for millennia. Grapevines are fairly adaptable plants, growing in a wide variety of soil types, and flourishing around the globe. Although there are over 10,000 documented varieties only about 3,500 are cultivated. Over 200 varieties are regionally significant and a mere dozen are commercially popular and widely known to consumers. Come and see what lies in your own backyard by learning about the vines and vineyards of Cape May County. A brief description of the basic how to grow grape varieties will be the topic.

Following the library presentation, the audience is invited to a tour of a local winery and vineyard.
