The class is open to individuals with some previous experience who would like to enhance their knowledge and beginners with little or no sign language experience. American Sign Language is a unique visual language with grammatical and linguistic structure that is different from English. The course will combine vocabulary learning with the basics of grammar and linguistics, and will include a brief introduction to Deaf history and culture.
Library: Cape May Court House LibraryMisty Bratton has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and has completed the Interpreter Education Program for American Sign Language at Camden County College, NJ. Misty is a member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, both nationally and in the NJ chapter.
