American Sign Language is a unique visual language with grammatical and linguistic structure that is different from English. The course will combine vocabulary learning with the basics of grammar and linguistics, and will include a brief introduction to Deaf history and culture.

Misty Bratton has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and has completed the Interpreter Education Program for American Sign Language at Camden County College, NJ. Misty is a member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, both nationally and in the NJ chapter. Misty is currently working in the school system as an educational interpreter and in the community as a freelance interpreter.
