Description:
 Herbs have and always will play a vital role in manís existence. Herbs have been used in many aspects of everyday living from preservation to homespun remedies to fabric dyes. In the lecture portion of this series, Alvarez will discuss the history, practical use of and gardening of herbs. In the workshop portion of this series, Alvarez will help decide which herbs would be best for your home and guide you through the planting process, so that by the end of the workshop you will be able to bring home an herb container garden.

Joseph Alvarez has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology/Environmental Science, is a Board Member of the Friends of Cape May National Wildlife Refuge, a founding member of the Cape May County Beach Plum Association, and is active in many county and agricultural programs in South Jersey.

Much of the plants and materials for this program have been provided courtesy of "No Frills Fam Market" of Cape May and "Marlboro Farms" of Green Creek.
