The Beach Bards Poetry Reading Series will present a poetry program on the third Monday of each month from June through September. Poets will perform readings from their original works. Afterward, poets will sign copies of their books when available.Library: Sea Isle City Library
This month we will feature poets Anna Evans and Penny Harter.
Penny Harter is published widely in journals and anthologies. Her latest book, The Resonance Around Us, (Mountains & River Press, 2013) has received considerable critical acclaim. Other books include One Bowl (prizewinning e-chapbook, 2012); Recycling Starlight (2010; and The Night Marsh (2008). She lives in Mays Landing, NJ and is a visiting poet in the schools through programs sponsored by the NJ Council on the Arts and other agencies.
Anna M. Evans' poems have appeared in the Harvard Review, Atlanta Review, Rattle, and American Arts Quarterly. Evans has an MFA from Bennington College and is the Editor of the Raintown Review. She received the 2012 Rattle Poetry Prize Readers' Choice Award, and fellowships from the MacDowell Artists' Colony, among others.
