Dog Obedience Training

Event Type: Education Program
Age Group(s): Adult
Date: 8/18/2014
Start Time: 6:00 PM
End Time: 7:30 PM
This program will be an overview of how to give your dog a healthy and happy way of life through obedience techniques and care. We will talk about basic obedience training, tips on keeping your dog healthy through care and exercise, and how to help with some difficulties that all puppies and dogs may go through with training. We will discuss topics such as potty training, grooming, walking on leash, and being a good dog owner. Leah, a retired Seeing Eye dog breeder, will be there to demonstrate the basic commands.

The Rebmann family raised 9 puppies for a non-profit program that provides guide dogs for sight-impaired individuals. During the years of raising those puppies, the Rebmann's learned many valuable techniques and "tricks" on how to properly care for and raise a good dog. Furthermore, Becky Czyzewski (Rebmann) worked as a veterinary technician's assistant throughout high school and college before becoming a teacher. Ray Rebmann is a local author who currently has 5 published books available, both e-books and regular print, one of which is available at the CMC Library and depicts the raising of some of the puppies. He has also been a reporter for the Cape May County Herald for many years.
