Come celebrate Women’s History Month by discovering how women are integral to the past, present, and future success of the United States Military. Learn about the contributions women, particularly those from Cape May County and New Jersey, have made to the Navy, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force by visiting Cape May County Library’s exhibit “Women in the Military: Willing, Able, Essential.” Housed at the Cape May Court House branch, the exhibit features the stories and accomplishments of female military pioneers such as Wildwood’s Captain Joy Bright Hancock, Coast Guard Training Center of Cape May’s Commanding Officer Sally Brice-O’Hara, and Morristown’s Colonel Ruth Cheney Streeter, as well as other important military female “firsts.”

Seating is limited; therefore registration is required for the Cape May City screenings. Registration is not required for Cape May Court House screening. For additional information and to register please call 463-6386 or visit online at www.cmclibrary.org.

We wish to extend a special note of thanks to the Wildwood Historical Society for the loaning of the Joy Bright Hancock memorabilia and the United States Coast Guard Training Base for the loaning of the film.

To ensure fairness, patrons who fail to appear for three (3) programs/classes will not be eligible for first time registration for a period of six months. Rather, these patrons will automatically be placed on the waiting list. If an opening is available, the said patron will be notified that he or she can attend. If a patron cannot attend a program/class, it is his or her responsibility to alert the library via its online registration or telephone at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the start of the program/class.
