Description:
 Prepare yourself for a plein air painting outing with this structured workshop exploring the landscape through pictorial reference and study of master works. Bring along photo images to spark your creativity as you interpret the pictorial references artistically. Strong emphasis will be based on composition and the use of thumbnail value sketches supporting glorious color harmonies. Any medium welcome small sketchbook, pencil, and eraser are all that is required. We will be sketching outside if the weather allows it.
Class instructor, Cheryl Crews is a dedicated local artist, art teacher and art activist, and a familiar dynamic force with regional museums, art centers and institutions, known for her public murals. Currently, she is on the faculty of Atlantic City Community College, lead teacher of Lower Township’s Youth Art Program through the Center for Community Arts, founding president of the Aquarian Project, and writer illustrator for “Sketches of Down Jersey” for the Down Jersey Magazine.
