A collision of contradiction between the modern food and health industry have come to the forefront in our culture and caused a generationís further evaluation of the modern lifestyle that may have a toxic hand in the deterioration of health and the rise of illnesses and diseases. Autoimmune diseases, allergies, digestive disorders, and mental health conditions have become commonplace. Food as medicine is not a novel notion, but is one that is resurfacing in light of the aforementioned. Learn and discuss practical ways to implement and achieve a lifestyle of comprehensive health.

Rebecca Horin is a health advocate with a background in the world of wellness for over 10 years. A Cape May County native, Rebecca currently works for the Cape May County Library while continuing to instruct in fitness and holistic health.

This is part 2 of a 3 part Holistic Health Series.

Part one is "Green and Clean" at the Stone Harbor Library on February 27th. There is an $8.00 non-refundable materials fee due at time of registration. Registration opens on 1/17/17.

Part two is "Teas and Tonics" at the Stone Harbor Library on March 27th. There is no fee for this event. Registration opens on 2/21/17.

Part three is "Bare Beauty Products" at the Cape May Court House Library on April 24th. There is a $13.00 non-refundable materials fee due at time of registration. Registration opens on 03/20/17.

Each event requires registration.

  • Attendee must be 18 Years or older.
  • All registrants must have library card in good standing. Many of the programs offered through the Cape May County Library require registration prior to the start of the program. Programs that require registration will be marked on the calendar (online and print), in press releases, and on promotional posters. To ensure fairness, patrons who fail to appear for three (3) programs/classes will not be eligible for first time registration for a period of six months. Rather, these patrons will automatically be placed on the waiting list. If an opening is available, the said patron will be notified that he or she can attend. If a patron cannot attend a program/class, it is his or her responsibility to alert the library via its online registration or telephone at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the start of the program/class. If proper notice of cancellation is given, then the patron will not be moved out of good standing.
