This workshop is for beginners or intermediate watercolor artists to master the art of miniature painting. Learn how to achieve detail, composition & color in a small painting.

Diana Heitzman is an avid painter with years of experience in many forms of visual art. Attention to detail as well as a passion for painting has driven her to share her artistic knowledge with others.

Required Materials List:

5 x 7 watercolor block or loose sheets of watercolor ( bring whatever size block you have) arches or fabriano- suggested
2 containers for water
Suggested sable watercolor brushes 0, 1, 2, 4, & 6
clear transparent ruler
kneaded eraser/drawing pencils
suggested winsor newton watercolors,burnt sienna, sap green, new gamboge, french ultramarine blue, quinacidome red,transparent yellow
saral transfer paper
tracing paper
paint pallet
Bring your own photos you wish to paint
all supplies can be ordered from DickBlick.com, Cheap Joe's or local art store

  • Attendee must be 18 Years or older.
  • All registrants must have library card in good standing. Many of the programs offered through the Cape May County Library require registration prior to the start of the program. Programs that require registration will be marked on the calendar (online and print), in press releases, and on promotional posters. To ensure fairness, patrons who fail to appear for three (3) programs/classes will not be eligible for first time registration for a period of six months. Rather, these patrons will automatically be placed on the waiting list. If an opening is available, the said patron will be notified that he or she can attend. If a patron cannot attend a program/class, it is his or her responsibility to alert the library via its online registration or telephone at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the start of the program/class. If proper notice of cancellation is given, then the patron will not be moved out of good standing.
