Please join us for a lecture about the rich history of Woodbine presented by Lawrence Levy, the official Borough of Woodbine Historian.

Lawrence is the son of Arthur and Mary Levy and the grandson of Barnett and Ida Breslow. Barnett and Ida Breslow were the original first settlers of Woodbine. Larry grew up in Woodbine, where he went to the elementary school and then attended Millville High School. While growing up, Larry worked for Siegel Brothers grocery store in Woodbine. When he moved to Millville in 1959, he married his high school sweetheart, Eleanor Saul Levy. Larry worked for Armstrong Corporation as a glass worker and was there until the factory closed in 1999. He was the Woodbine representative for the American Legion Post in Boys State. He has worked with the Historical Society of Cape May County and the Woodbine Heritage Museum.

  • Attendee must be 18 Years or older.
  • All registrants must have library card in good standing. Many of the programs offered through the Cape May County Library require registration prior to the start of the program. Programs that require registration will be marked on the calendar (online and print), in press releases, and on promotional posters. To ensure fairness, patrons who fail to appear for three (3) programs/classes will not be eligible for first time registration for a period of six months. Rather, these patrons will automatically be placed on the waiting list. If an opening is available, the said patron will be notified that he or she can attend. If a patron cannot attend a program/class, it is his or her responsibility to alert the library via its online registration or telephone at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the start of the program/class. If proper notice of cancellation is given, then the patron will not be moved out of good standing.
