The workshop is focused on how attendees can improve their use of five contemporary leadership styles by using the Mora Leadership & Communication Matrix: A Tool For Enhancing Leadership Styles ©.
Are you interested in a lively discussion on how to improve your use of five contemporary leadership styles by using a Leadership and Communication Matrix developed by workshop leader, Dr. Peter Mora? The discussion also shares actual examples of how President Theodore Roosevelt demonstrated significant, intuitive skills in using contemporary leadership styles to obtain his extensive achievements. Dr. Mora is a retired president of the Atlantic Cape Community College (2005-2016).
Dr. Peter Mora served as President of Atlantic Cape Community College from 2005 to his retirement in 2016. Following are some examples of his leadership achievements as President of Atlantic Cape: elected Chairperson of the New Jersey Council of County Colleges; collaborated with Dr. Richard McCormick, President of Rutgers University, to create a 28,000 sq. ft. Degree Completion facility at Atlantic Cape’s Mays Landing Campus; provided oversight for the institutional self-study by Atlantic Cape, that resulted in renewal of 10-year reaccreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE); served as chairperson of the MSCHE accreditation teams for evaluation visits to Hagerstown Community College and Genesee Community College; upgraded the structure of the college’s five-year Strategic Plan; created the development of a ten-year master facilities plan, Blueprint 2020: building a Better Future for
Atlantic Cape Community College, that is linked to the Strategic Plan; led the effort to secure $64 million in capital funding from a wide range of funding sources to construct facilities identified in Blueprint 2020; elected to serve as chairperson for the Public Safety and Security Committee of the New Jersey Council of College Presidents; developed an effective partnership with the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation for the development of the Foundation’s first major gifts fundraising campaign, “Create Opportunity,” which raised $3.5 million, far surpassing the goal of $2.5 million; obtained the Certificate of Achievement from the Harvard University, Seminar for Experienced College Presidents; and, invited by Oxford University (along with Dr. Theresa DeFranco as co-presenter) to present a research paper on community college/K-8 education in the GIS-STEM curricula.
