Dr. Theresa DeFranco served in education for 41 years, prior to retiring in 2018. Her career ranged from serving as a school superintendent, college dean and vice-president, counselor, and teacher. Dr. DeFranco studied stress on the doctoral level and completed a national study on stress, burnout, and support systems. She believes strongly in life-long learning and has taken classes offered through Harvard University’s Lifestyle Management program on stress and weight management. Dr. DeFranco has experience in teaching at the college level in the areas of Psychology and Sociology, and has delivered a wide range of stress management workshops. She models applying stress reduction strategies in her life by enjoying 80 minutes of exercise every day, gardening, and painting.
