Curious about your backyard visitors? The Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey will show you some of the common birds found in your backyard!
South Jersey is a hotspot for migratory birds, and a dream for bird enthusiasts. With so many different species flying through, it can be hard to identify them all. Was that a White-throated Sparrow that just flew by? Or was it a Song Sparrow? Was that an American Crow or a Common Grackle? A Gray Catbird or a White-breasted Nuthatch? Join us and the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ to learn all about the birds in your backyard, how to ID them, what makes them unique, and how we can protect them.
Join birder Lindsay McNamara on this fun introduction to the amazing array of birds you might be able to see in your own backyard or neighborhood. Ever wonder what the colorful bird was that you saw at your feeder? Or perched on a branch outside your window? This is a great way to start identifying some of those birds, along with interesting information about each of the species identified.
The mission of the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey, is to preserve rare and imperiled species of wildlife that live and breed in, and migrate through New Jersey.
We do this by carrying out research on species, populations and natural communities. We implement conservation plans on species or populations to stall declines and start recovery. We aid in restoring habitats so that it can be as productive as possible for wildlife and other natural communities. We aim to educate everyone who lives in New Jersey about our shared wild heritage and our shared responsibility to protect it, by engaging partners to make us effective and efficient in the use of our resources, and developing a committed corps of volunteers connected to our state’s wonderful biodiversity, and that will work hard to protect it.
CWF VISION:
We are looking, and working, towards a future where New Jersey is home to greater numbers of rare species, stronger populations, and enough good habitats to support them.
