Forget the Persuasive Essays you wrote in high school with its dozens of creativity-destroying rules! The Personal Essay is a wonderfully flexible form that we can use to record our most important thoughts, as time-honored authors have done for centuries.
During the sessions we will discuss tips to create more compelling pieces, and we will share as many stories with each other as time will allow. Input and friendly, constructive critique will be encouraged. Together, we’ll explore and craft our own memoir, contemplative, lyric, and spiritual essays. By the end of the series, the essence of who you are will have emerged for your own deeper understanding of your life.
Please bring a pen and notebook as we will be writing in class.
Please make sure to provide a valid email address for sharing essays in between classes!
