Our Perfect Storm and Our Community’s Perfect Response: 62 Years of the ’62 Storm
It has been 62 years since the Ash Wednesday ’62 Storm that devastated Sea Isle City and surrounding areas in March 1962. Nature dealt a challenging hand and it was up to the citizens of Sea Isle City to play it. Please join us to learn more about this destructive storm, how the people of Sea Isle survived, and, ultimately, thrived as they came together as a community to rebuild.
There will be an opportunity to share brief eyewitness accounts so please come prepared if you would like to share your ’62 Storm experience.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 in the Presentation Room at the Sea Isle City Library. Doors will open at 11am. Presentation will begin at 12pm. The Sea Isle City Historical Museum, located inside the Sea Isle City Library, will be open before and after the event for further exploration.
