Though winter is a quieter time in our marshes and local ecosystems, there’s still plenty of life down at the shore! This presentation will discuss our winter residents here in New Jersey, both the ones we can see around and the ones who go dormant during the colder months, and their strategies to survive.

The Wetlands Institute strives to promote appreciation, understanding & stewardship of wetlands and coastal ecosystems through our programs in research, conservation, and education by:

• Teaching people of all ages the value of wetlands and coastal ecosystems for the survival of life on earth
• Conducting cutting-edge research regarding wetlands and coastal ecosystems
• Encouraging stewardship of these ecosystems worldwide
